Masdar Institute nominated for RIBA Lubetkin Prize

Abu Dhabi’s Masdar Institute, designed by Foster + Partners, has been nominated for the RIBA Lubetkin Prize which honours the best international building outside the EU.

Foster & Partners was also nominated for its design of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts in the USA.

Zaha Hadid Architects also secured a nomination for  the Guangzhou Opera House, China, putting the practice in the running for both the Stirling and the Lubetkin Prize.

The shortlist is completed by The Met (high rise housing), Bangkok, by WOHA and Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, USA, by Rick Mather and SMBW.

The winner of both the Lubetkin and the Stirling Prize will be announced on Saturday 1st October.
