Royal approval for Dubai’s Jumeirah Beach Hotel expansion

Plans to massively expand Dubai’s Jumeirah Beach Hotel put forward by architects Broadway Malyan have been given royal approval.

Ruler of Dubai HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has endorsed the fifth phase of the expansion plan, which is set for completion in 2018.

The masterplan was delivered by Broadway Malyan on behalf of Jumeirah Group, with the practice’s designers in Abu Dhabi and Lisbon, Portugal, working closely with the client.

The project will see the addition of a resort to the existing Jumeirah Beach Hotel, which will comprise 350 hotel rooms with beachfront views of the Burj Al Arab, as well as a private beach, spas, health clubs, tennis courts, a world-class sports complex and shops and restaurants.

The existing yacht marina will also expand and double its current capacity.

The expansion project is in line with Sheikh Mohammed’s  vision to strengthen Dubai as a global tourism hub.
