Russian cinema gets frozen in time

Colombian Juan Andres Diaz Parra won a competition to redesign the facade of the famous Pushkinsky Cinema in Pushkin Square, Moscow, with a concept entitled Frozen in Time.

The competition was run by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), the Union of Architects of Russia.

Changing the Face – Moscow 2011 requested a landmark for the future and attracted 512 entries from 1,002 architects from 62 different countries.

Second  prize was awarded to Adrian Reinbroth, Franziska Boettcher and Jenny Grossman from Germany while third place went to Joseph Sung from South Korea.
