The Avenue is a retail development project by local developer Meraas.

The fast-track project is scheduled for completion by the third quarter of 2012 and will cover a total built-up area of 12,800m² on a plot of approximately 53,000m².

The Avenue is the first segment of a three-phase project spanning 1,100m. Work on the second phase will begin in the next few months.

Al-Futtaim Carillion has been appointed as project contractors for phase one.

Situated on a 350m promenade between Al Wasl Road and Sheikh Zayed Road, The Avenue will contain a mixture of retail brands, an anchor supermarket, restaurants and a healthcare clinic.

Dewan Architects & Engineers has been awarded the design and supervision contract for The Avenue.

The scheme will include outdoor seating with extensive landscaping, water features and green spaces.
