Hyder appoints new MENA advisor

Hyder Consulting, a multi-national design consultancy has appointed a new regional strategic advisor for its Middle East business.

Laura Hutchings, former advisor to the Duke of York on Middle East affairs, was appointed to  help strengthen client relationships and to bring an improved effort by focusing on the Hyder’s key accounts.

The company said that Hutchings, who is an Arabic speaker and who also grew up in Dubai, has 15 years of experience working in aid, political and commercial diplomacy roles across the MENA region.


Hyder is renowned for working on some of the world’s most iconic buildings and structures including Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Tower Bridge in London.

Wael Allan, Hyder’s regional managing director, said: “We are very pleased to appoint Laura Hutchings as regional strategic advisor to the Middle East Region. “Laura will work closely with the executive team at Hyder to identify client needs for better alignment and enhancement of services to our client base across the Middle East Region.”
