The design philosophy and approach was to create a destination dining venue which would be a signature component of the ME hotel, facilitating a requirement of a signature restaurant.

The restaurant will provide an adaptable and versatile experience, transforming from a daytime breakfast venue, to lunch and high tea, through to a night time lounge setting.

The interiors design and styling was briefed to be autonomous yet homogeneous to the overall interior design aesthetics of the hotel.

“The interior language and styling was sympathetic to the interior envelope of the lobby yet diversely different. This was achieved through the use of current innovative materials and finishes which possessed the inherent properties to morph throughout the day, allowing the space to be versatile and conducive to the needs of the clientele,” the design team at Bishop Design said.

The venue itself incorporates a multitude of graphic applications, surface textures, bespoke lighting and versatile seating settings that transition throughout the day. The space will accommodate a multitude of differing scenarios which were achieved through the spatial layering within and the creation of seating pockets and visual layers.

“Sight lines play an important dynamic within space as they change not only between spatial areas, moreover they define areas and activities within. The ceilings are fluid and captivate the eye whilst the material finishes used create an intrigue and excitement which allow the space to be elegant yet playful, sophisticated yet current,” the team added.

Paul Bishop, founder of Bishop Design, revealed that he will be re-branding Bishop Design to Rogue, to instill a more cheeky and bold approach to interior design. Read our full interview with Bishop here.

Bishop Design has also unveiled designs for its new dining venues located on the 70th and 71st floors of the new Address Downtown hotel, featuring 360 views of Dubai.
