As the 9th edition of the CID Awards fast approaches, meet our judges and look back at some of the winning designs from 2014.
Set for September 16th at the JW Marriott Marquis hotel, the 9th edition of the CID Awards is just around the corner. In the previous issue, we introduced you to the CID Awards sponsors and now moving to the next stage, it is time to meet our judges and to take a look at some of the winning designs from last year’s event. All of them set new limits and higher standards in the region’s interior design community.
The judging panel will provide unique perspectives from various angles in the industry. We have an eclectic mix of individuals from different parts of the industry, from architects to lighting designers and academics, all of whom will focus their expertise on the projects submitted for the awards. Our star-studded panel of judges includes: Andre C Meyerhans, head of Andre C. Meyerhans Architects; Hani Fallaha, designer and partner at LOCI Architects+Design; Matteo Bianchi, director of Matteo Bianchi Studio; Sergio Padula, technical director at iGuzzini; Rue Kothari, fair director of Downtown Design; Maria Mortera, professor at the College of Architect, Art and Design at the American University of Sharjah; Linda Merieau, executive director of Association of Professional Interior Designers (APID) and Laura Bielecki, senior interior design manager at Ellington.
In the following weeks, they will be going through every single entry to decide winners in 16 categories for individuals and projects that push the boundaries beyond ordinary. We asked some of our judges what they’re most looking forward to.
As the deadline to submit nominations is now past, the CID editorial team would like to thank everyone who has entered.
