Lebanese photographer documents Oscar Niemeyer’s 15 unfinished works in Tripoli

Lebanese photographer Anthony Saroufim documets late Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeye’s incomplete works at the site of the Rashid Karami International Fairgrounds in Tripoli, Lebanon’s second largest city.

The architect was commissioned in 1963 to design the grounds, which was then abruptly discontinued in 1975 with the start of the country’s civil war.

Fifteen concrete structures still stand as the architects unfinished architectural vision, in a 10,000 hectare plot.
