The world’s largest sustainable underwater tourism site is being planned off the coast of Dubai
US-based developer Reef Worlds says its “lost city” will be a home for marine life as well as a magnet for divers with its combination of natural wonders and fantasy-style undersea architecture.
To be called Pearl of Dubai, located in the shallow waters off The World Islands development, the project has been designed with a ruined city theme by designers who were also involved in the Hollywood blockbusters Avatar and Pirates of the Caribbean.
“We create something for everyone that takes experiencing the ocean environment to new heights,” said Dave Taylor director of development for Reef Worlds.
The site will be based around an artificial reef which would attract fish and aquatic vegetation.
