Top 40 most powerful architects in the Middle East 2017

From starchitect to local potential – celebrating urbanists who will shape the next year.

This annual list is in two parts – the top 10 international figures who also have a huge influence across the Middle East and the 40 who have a continued presence and demonstrate an inspired commitment to this part of the world.

Those directly responsible for concept and design through to finalisation form the list – not company executives.

We feel that in architecture it is inspiration, innovation, social awareness, ability to understand and develop sustainability and the desire to do what no-one else has ever achieved is at the heart of the very best professionals.

And that is what we want to recognise.
