Coffee table

Beautiful but usable.  Simple but effective. Isamu Noguchi’s iconic coffee table was introduced by Herman Miller in 1947 and described in the manufacturer’s catalogue as ‘sculpture-for-use’.

The distinctive wooden base is self supporting, and remarkably stable, allowing the heavy plate glass top to be placed without the use of connectors. Reintroduced in 1984, the design classic has been in continual production ever since.
