Perpetual Calendar; Michelle Kruzell; 2010

More attractive than any calendar you’ve ever bought, this sleek little item has turned timekeeping into a work of art.

Perpetual Calendar is the brainchild of architect and product designer Michelle Kruzell.

It consists of two contrasting materials – a hand-selected, salvaged timber beam and colourful transparent acrylic tags – and constructed using a combination of digital production tools and handmade skills.

Each tag is unique to the day of the year and can be pulled out by hand; you can mark the tags with notes or doodles in the hope you don’t forget that special someone’s birthday. Again.
