These six projects have been shortlisted for this year’s CID Awards in Bars and Clubs category. Awarded for the best interior design in social spaces intended to encourage vibrant nightlife. The judges will reward projects that successfully combine different areas such as the bar itself, performance space, private and intimate areas along with spaces that promote social interaction.
CID Awards 2016: Interior Design of the Year – Bars and Clubs
The venue was envisioned as a space that encapsulates the comforts of a local pub but in a lush colonial setting.
The venue reminisces the life of a traveller by using design features such as luggage stacked on shelving, and letter press displays inspired by newspapers.
Lock Stock & Barrel
The space was de-constructed and then rebuilt using a range of reclaimed materials to transform a night club into an atmospheric bar.
The Eloquent Elephant
The interior design has purposeful subtle reference to the Taj Hotel’s Indian heritage, blending well with furniture and lighting.
Interiors offer a sense of welcome exuded by mixed materials like Herringbone floors, millwork, bold textured fabrics and upholsteries.
Ynot Bar & Kitchen
The bar fuses an industrial look with elements of pop. The selected furniture creates a harmonious atmosphere.
