The second edition of Downtown Design is just around the corner, as its set to take place from 28 October – 31 October. Located in Downtown Dubai’s pop-up tent, The Venue, the four-day long exhibition will showcase a number of exhibitors coming from around the world.
This year, the exhibitors list includes brands from Latvia, Denmark, France, Italy, the US, Germany, Czech Republic, England and Switzerland among many others. In addition to the programme’s curated collection of influential brands, we will also see an exciting schedule of activities tailored to the fair’s audience of design professionals and enthusiasts, responsible for shaping the design sector in the Middle East.
Cristina Romelli Gervasoni, fair director, says: “The way people live, work and travel is undergoing a radical transformation today. This is reflected in the creations of the world’s foremost designers, and is the single most important driver of the innovations we are witnessing worldwide and which we bring to Downtown Design every year.”
She adds: “We are witnessing an unprecedented demand for quality interiors in the region, as a natural alignment with the quality exteriors of upscale developments that are experiencing tremendous growth. This requires the close collaboration of developers, architects and designers to deliver projects that provide consumers with a complete design experience.
This year’s focus for Downtown Design is on ‘original design’. According to Gervasoni, originality refers to the quality of materials, attention to detail, superior craftsmanship and thoughtful design- qualities that should be combined to enhance the user’s way of life.
New elements of the show this year include its flooring exhibition, which will showcase trends such as carpets, mosaic tiling and wood, while the fair in general will bring forth top brands in furniture, lighting, textiles and accessories.
Gervasoni says: “We are proud to provide this platform at Downtown Design, connecting brands, trade professionals and the community with our uncompromising selection of exhibitors who are known for their original craftsmanship and commitment to product development.”
While there are many top exhibitors at the fair to look forward to, we’ve pooled a cool ten that are not to be missed. From all over the world, these brands are pioneering in various sectors of the design realm from lighting to carpets and furnishing.
“The fair provides a platform for the Middle East to access these global brands in a setting that allows for meaningful exchanges and recognises Dubai’s growing role as a global design destination,” notes Gervasoni.
