Six storey home for three family generations

A project in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, has seen the creation of a six-storey house with half of its floors behind hollow concrete block screens and the rest exposed to the elements.

Vo Trong Nghia Architects has completed the building – called the Binh Thanh House -which will house three generations of the same family and includes concrete ceilings, a spiral staircase and gardens on each

floor.

Alternate levels feature air-conditioning and natural ventilation.

“The concept of the house is to accommodate two different lifestyles in a tropical climate,” said a spokesman for Vo Trong Nghia. “While this house looks different from the stereotypical townhouses of Ho Chi Minh City all the architectural solutions are derived from the local lifestyle.”
