Front desks are on their way out
They are slowly being replaced by living room-like public areas with more technology introduced for self-service options.
Safety and security is paramount
Security cameras in public areas will reach an all-time high. Facial recognition is in the early stages of roll-out across the hospitality industry but is becoming more popular.
The science of your stay
Incorporating creative solutions like sound and lighting technology and sensitive wake-up tools and techniques will help guests to be more efficient and sleep better during their stays. Also, mobile phone use for the room operations and bookings are going to bring significant convenience and comfort.
Health and wellness fascination
Healthy eating and organic food options trends are more popular than ever. Connecting guests with nature is going to bring about a new awareness and experiences for guests. Using natural materials, art inspired by nature, introducing micro gardens, creating spaces for meditation and rich wellness programmes will be a key focus for hospitality projects.
Culture and simple beauty
High-touch furnishings, but simple environmental finishes will be a great way for budget-oriented hotels to make beautiful spaces that are relevant but still cost effective. However, simplicity requires smart and seamless detailing which is going to bring new challenges for designers and contractors.
Culture-centric designs are going to form connections with the context. We are passionate about reflecting the culture of the Middle East in our interiors.
Aesthetics and colours are often influenced by fashion, and the latest fashion trends are going to bring an interesting vibe to the hospitality world: mindful white (call for peace), pure basics (quality minimalism), casual indigo but also dual colour tones, feminine aesthetics, materials without limits (free-floating fibers and textures that breathe), handmade objects and elements.
One of our recently completed projects, Jetex Lounge, reflects some of these trends. It is designed to provide an exceptional clients’ experience and a sense of luxury that resonates with natural forms while setting the stage for the journey to come.
A natural backdrop of a white palette gives power to shapes and features. The space is infused with a variety of textures and authentic materials that cater to human comfort. Colours are minimised, with accents to hint at the branding. Technology anticipates the needs of the customers and provides a key feature within the space with large-scale screens.
As millennials will become the most important consumer group in 2017, we have to acknowledge that this is shaping trends in hospitality sectors. As consultants we are looking at new ways of offering a genuine experience to this generation whilst focusing on local culture, innovation and sustainability.
