UK seating firm Connection moves to Dubai

A UK-based company that designs and manufactures contemporary soft seating, task and meeting chairs, breakout furniture and tables has moved to the UAE.

Justine Welch has been appointed business development manager for Connection in Dubai and will promote Third Space products with the introduction of Hive, Horizon and Eclipse.

Founded in 1995, the head office is based in Huddersfield and it has a showroom in Clerkenwell, London.

“Connection is an innovative seating company based in the UK which has spent the last two decades designing and refining ways to connect the first, second and third workspace concepts,” said Welch.

“The concept of ‘Third space’ is already growing very quickly in the UK and everybody I know here in the UAE seems to have the same feeling.

“Our passion is designing and manufacturing affordable, high quality contemporary contract furniture to meet the ever-evolving needs of the workplace.”

She added as designers and manufacturers of commercial seating, Connections understands how manufacturing workplace furniture will work in the future, therefore bringing fresh and unusual ideas to production which are tested to BS and EN standards.

A recent concept is the Liquid Workspace, which has been developed to demonstrate an understanding of changing work and learning practices where fluid, less rigid workspaces encourage collaboration and communication.

“The liquid Workspace denotes flexible working, productive people and encouraging a more positive attitude to work. The impact of technology cannot be underestimated, allowing people to take a more personal approach to work by allowing a free from wired workstation where Wifi and Bluetooth are available,” added Welch.

“The Hive range of furniture is an organically shaped, fluid modular seating system, which brings together all the elements of the Liquid Workspace.”
