Architect firm 10 Design has been awarded the contract for Phase 3 of the Al Barari residential development in Dubai.
The company has just completed design work on the earlier part of the project with its Seventh Heaven development with 90% of its units sold in the first two days on the market.
Partner Chris Jones said: “10 Design has been commissioned for Phase 3 Al Barari Residences and an ongoing masterplan of the remaining phases of the development.”
The master plan for the development is a park punctuated by waterways and incorporating residential villas, a hotel, commercial district and community facilities.
It includes as much vegetation as possible with trees and plants lining paths and roads and bordering the apartment buildings.
Water features and wildlife are also a major part of the project.
Gordon Affleck, design partner at 10 Design, said, “The project was challenging in that it balanced the clients requirement for panoramic views and large terraces for each unit with the environmental challenges of designing in the hot environment of Dubai.
“A rich series of terraces and outriggers not only break down the building and create a more dynamic form but also make the façade self shading. Computer simulation was used to ensure optimization of the shading structures.”
