The American Hardwood Export Council, AHEC, is the leading international trade association for the American hardwood industry. It represents the exporters that operate among American hardwood companies, as well as the major hardwood production trade associations.
For the fourth year running, AHEC stands as a gold sponsor. It’s involvement in the CID Awards is part of the organisation’s market development programme in the Middle East, as well as symbolic of AHEC’s goal to continue educating local specifies on the advantages of using American hardwood.
Roderick Wiles, AHEC Director for Africa, Middle East, South Asia and Oceania said: “AHEC is sponsoring the CID Awards for the fourth year in a row and we look forward to receiving quality nominations for the Outstanding Use of American hardwoods in the Middle East award this year.”
AHEC noted that its partnership with the CID Awards allows it to shed some more light on the American hardwoods industry. It hopes to draw attention to excellent projects that applied American hardwood via its sponsored category.
With its own category, AHEC finds it important that major players in the industry are recognised and rewarded for delivering outstanding interiors. “This leads to healthy competition and higher standards overall. In the case of the region’s interior design community, the CID Awards provides just that—a platform to champion all the good work that is being done,” said Wiles.
Through its partnership with CID Awards, AHEC hopes to further strengthen its ties with the region’s top architecture and interior design firms.
Wiles noted: “The initiative complements our commitment to provide architects, specifiers, designers and end-users with technical information on the range of species, products and sources of supply of American hardwoods…The CID Awards will, once again, provide us with a unique and exciting opportunity to see some of the very best projects and we are looking forward to seeing the nominations for this year’s awards.”
