Contracting company, Amana Contracting & Steel Buildings Technology has installed Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology to improve the firm’s work process.
Implemented over a two-month period, the installation covered BIM software like Revit Architecture, Revit MEP, Revit Structure Solutions and Navisworks. The software is expected to strengthen Amana’s operations and fast track development in UAE projects where sustainable construction is involved and Estidama guidelines are observed.
According to Amana, the use of AutoCAD software for drawing work and other design processes proved inadequate against the challenges of fast track schedules, security concerns and the large number of personnel involved per project.
To help address these concerns, technology provider Omnix International presented Amana with an Autodesk BIM software package that allowed the company to access accurate and current project information for quick approval of key decisions.
William Bsaibes, green initiative manager, Amana Contracting & Steel Buildings, said: “The use of BIM technology gives us a competitive edge by producing high quality documentation, shorter production cycles and an improved approach at servicing our clients.”
