Lebanese performance and video artist, Rima Kaddissi, will hold a mini seminar on Andy Warhol to discuss the importance and significance of his work next month.
The event, “Understanding Contemporary Visual Art & Andy Warhol’s work”, part of Art Couture Dubai, will be held at Al Badia Golf Club, InterContinental, Dubai Festival City, on June 9, from 11am-2pm.
“This session will be on Andy Warhol, it will discuss the importance and significance of his work, how it developed, how people and society interacted with it, and how as receivers do we get to understand and decipher its codes and projected messages,” said Kaddissi.
“The Andy Warhol case study will educate guests on how to understand, interpret, and interact with contemporary art.”
Art Couture gallery was set up at The Walk in Jumeirah Beach Residence in 2007 to promote contemporary art and has now moved to the Al Badia Golf Club, InterContinental, Dubai Festival City.
It hosts free art exhibitions, monthly art and coffee mornings (AED40) and its new morning art talks in collaboration with The Third Eye, mini seminars, with different topics at various prices.
The gallery is an open concept gallery that runs across Al Badia Golf Club and is open from 10am to midnight daily.
