Following the recent success of The Galleria, Abu Dhabi, at the Middle East Architect awards, the district has once again scooped an award for its innovative design.
Representatives from The Galleria, a joint venture between Mubadala Real Estate & Infrastructure (MREI) and Gulf Related, collected the Devine Detail: Award of Merit during the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Middle East award ceremony.
This seeks to encourage excellence in architecture, honor works of distinction by its members and bring public attention to outstanding examples of architecture.
Designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects as Design Architect and Benoy as Architect-of-Record, the shopping, dining and leisure precinct forms the centerpiece of Sowwah Square.
Ali Eid AlMheiri, executive director, Mubadala Real Estate & Infrastructure, said: “Recognition of The Galleria as a leading international development through these prominent international award bodies is a true testament of both Al Maryah Island’s ambitious vision and the caliber of international partners we have worked with who have brought The Galleria and the entire Central Business District to life.”
