Atelier Boronski wins Taiwan museum competition

Japan-based firm Atelier Boronski has won an international competition to design a new art museum in the Taiwanese capital of Taipei.

The practice beat Japanese rival Kengo Kuma as well as Spanish firm Federico Soriano Pelaez, which claimed third place.

British practice Moxon Architects was also awarded a merit from the client, New Taipei City Government.

The brief called for a world-class people’s art museum that stands out from the traditional museum typology.
