Expo 2020 Dubai recently revealed the global event’s master plan in the city.
Using augmented reality, Dubai Expo 2020‘s organising team offered visitors of Arab Media Forum a glimpse of how the Expo 2020 site will “look and feel” upon completion.
The event is to be held between 20 October, 2020 and 10 April, 2021.
Spanning 2sqkm, the Expo site will revolve around the Al Wasl meeting plaza.
The Expo’s pavilions have been planned along the sub-themes of opportunity, mobility, and sustainability.
Districts designed along these sub-themes will spread outwards from Al Wasl.
Each district will feature a theme pavilion.
Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation and director-general of Expo 2020Dubai, said the Expo 2020 Dubai’s master plan “truly reflects the theme of ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’”.
She continued: “We strive to make Expo 2020 Dubai a comprehensive experience that begins from now until the end of its activities in 2021.
“Its impact will last long to benefit future generations for decades to come.”
The master plan “aims to seamlessly integrate the three subthemes into the urban design, infrastructure, delivery, operations, and legacy of the mega-event”, Al Hashemi added, according to WAM.
