Aurecon has appointed Ben Stapleton as managing director for its infrastructure activities, Construction Week reports.

In his new role, Stapleton will help the engineering consultancy’s public and private sector clients tackle infrastructure-related challenges, such as urbanisation, changing community expectations, and the impact of emerging technologies.

During the course of his career, Stapleton has gained experience in numerous industry fields, including infrastructure planning, design, operation, and maintenance.

Aurecon stated that his understanding of social, technical, and financial influences facilitate its global team in helping clients to advance their businesses.

Commenting on his appointment as infrastructure MD, Stapleton said: “Some of the things that attracted me to this role at Aurecon are the company’s energetic approach to leveraging disruptive technology and best practice innovation to help clients make better decisions about all lifecycle stages of their infrastructure assets.

Aurecon is ideally positioned to help clients make better use of design and technology for long-term infrastructure planning, development, and maintenance.”

Giam Sweigers, global chief executive officer of Aurecon, added: “Appointing the right people is one of the many steps that Aurecon takes to ensure that our global teams are able to lead amidst ongoing disruption in our industry.

“Ben will play an important role in contributing subject-matter expertise to clients working in a complex global environment, and who need asset optimisation, support with digitisation, and smart infrastructure solutions.”
