Aykon City to feature open air viewing from 1,000ft high

Dubai is planning a new adrenaline-fuelled attraction in the Akoya City project: an open air viewing platform that is 1,000ft above ground, modeled on the Edge Walk at Toronto’s CN Tower.

Aykon Dare will allow visitors to be “in harness” while standing on the edge of the tallest tower in the new Aykon development, and view the city without the obstructions of windows or railings.

The attraction will be accessible from the 78th floor lounge and dining area, where the visitors will walk out on to a landing platform prior to beginning their ascent, later safely harnessed to a rail that leads up to the upper level, according to The National.

Visitors can then step up and out into a glass-floored viewing deck, set 935ft above Sheikh Zayed Road, offering panoramic views of the city.

The development itself includes four towers featuring a five-star hotel accomodation, luxury hotel apartments, residences and a boutique office space that is linked to the central podium, offering retail, dining and entertainment venues. It is being developed by Damac Properties.
