Baccarat, renowned for unmatched craftsmanship and exceptional design, opened the doors to its first ever lighting showroom in the Middle East.

Located on Sheikh Mohammed Boulevard in the heart of UAE’s pulsating economic and retail district Downtown Dubai, the 130m2 showroom is designed to be an experiential destination dedicated to architects and interior designers.

Opened in partnership with the Chalhoub Group, the showroom’s design concept is a new global retail model for the brand with dedicated spaces that feature home décor and special lighting statements.

Over the last two years, Baccarat has opened A&D targeted showrooms in major architectural centers around the world including Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing and New York with exceptional success. Given the scale and diversity of luxury projects in the Middle East, this first-of-its-kind lighting showroom in the region will serve as a fantastic point of reference for the Architect and Interior Design community.

The showroom’s double-height glass façade beckons visitors into a sophisticated space that presents Baccarat’s dazzling collection as art, reflecting “the timeless modernity of the brand”. Home to some of the most exceptional lighting statements ever created, including the 58-light chandelier Solstice Flou by Philippe Starck–a special order piece – the showroom’s collection is a good representation of the brand’s unique position at the intersection of tradition and innovation.

The entire space is divided into two distinct areas: The front houses a comfortable lounge featuring decorative pieces and the iconic 12-light Marie Coquine chandelier, while the back area is a semi-private meeting space with a magnificent crystal Philippe Starck table, lit from above by an 18-light LED Solstice Comete chandelier.

Adoring the walls, ceilings and tables are pieces created in collaboration with renowned designers including the likes of Philippe Starck, Mathias, Jaime Hayon, Arik Levy, Nicolas Triboulot, Yann Kersale, Thomas Bastide, Michele De Lucchi, and Marcel Wanders.

From table lamps to floor lamps, from sconces to chandeliers the showroom offers an array of lighting and decorative pieces for a wide selection of projects—from residential to commercial, classic to contemporary.

“During its illustrious history, Baccarat has illuminated the grandest of palaces and presidential homes worldwide.  It is a name that is synonymous with ultra-luxury, glamour, prestige and unmatched craftsmanship.

The new showroom provides a perfect and minimalistic platform to best showcase Baccarat’s iconic crystal lighting chandeliers, made by the best artisans in the industry.  It is an honor to be associated with this project and my team and I look forward to building closer relationships with Architects and Interior Designers and heightening the retail experience of Baccarat in the Middle East,” remarked Lily Eskandari, A&D business development manager.

With a proud history reaching back three centuries, Baccarat has been writing the history of light ever since its first collection of chandeliers was created in the mid-19th century.

That history combines tradition and innovation, extreme refinement and new technologies, to translate the legends of the past into the language of the present. The opening of the new flagship will once again honour Baccarat as a leader of luxury lifestyle and allow the legend to live on for the next 250 years.
