Beirut City Centre to open in early 2013

Lebanon’s US$300m shopping mall Beirut City Centre is on course for opening in early 2013, according to developer Majid Al Futtaim Properties.

Located in Beirut’s Hazmieh district, the project is gunning for a LEED Silver rating and will contain a total of 200 stores within 60,000m2 of retail space.

Is the first retail development in Lebanon by Majid Al Futtaim Properties, the developer behind several of the UAE’s mega malls, including  Mall of the Emirates, Deira City Centre and Mirdif City Centre.

Construction on Beirut City Centre commenced in September 2009 and the roof and external structure has now been completed.

The scheme will be anchored by the first Carrefour hypermarket in Lebanon, a VOX Cinema multiplex and the Magic Planet family entertainment.

It will also feature an open-air, rooftop dining area with 12 restaurants.
