The Big 5 show which closes tomorrow (Thursday) sold all its exhibitor space for the first time in five years.
Group event director, Andy White said: “For the first time since the Sheikh Saeed Halls at Dubai World Trade Centre were completed in 2009, the show is completely sold out. That means every metre of space in the halls and every metre of space in the concourses.
“We even have a waiting list, which is something we’ve never had before, and something – quite frankly – we didn’t expect at all. It’s something we’re not completely happy about, I have to say. But that will change, hopefully, in 2016, when Dubai World Trade Centre builds a new hall for us.”
The show had more than 2,700 exhibitors from 60 countries, 25% of which have never appeared at the show before. This is an 8% increase over 2013.
“The Big 5 in Dubai has always been a reliable barometer of the industry, and year on year – even through the recent global financial crisis – the event has grown,” said Matt Denton, senior vice president for construction at show organiser, dmg events.
