This year, the retail category went to Bluehaus Group for its excellent work on Level Kids at The Walk, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai.
The firm worked closely with client Chalhoub Group and concept designer Fitch London to bring the retail store to life and add another outstanding shopping destination to The Walk.
Bluehaus Group was able to tap into Chalhoub’s extensive knowledge of retail to come up with a store that reflected the company ethos behind the Level brand.
The judges were impressed by the “fresh, fun, dynamic, current, innovative” design and said that it dovetailed well with the Level kids concept.
One judge described the store as “a retail destination to inspire”.
Another judge said it is “an indulgent and playful design that has been cleverly and successfully controlled by Bluehaus to create an inspiring retail experience for children, side-stepping any cliché in preference of sophistication”.
A delighted Ben Corrigan, CEO and founder of Bluehaus Group, reacted to winning the award by saying: “It’s a fantastic achievement. It’s an amazing project, we really enjoyed working on it. There was a lot of effort put into it.”
Corrigan said that the project had generated a lot of buzz in the market, adding: “Retail is a relatively new sector for Bluehaus Group – so for us to pick up a retail award is very exciting for the future.”
