Construction begins on China’s $4bn skyscraper

Evergrande Tower, China’s second-tallest skyscraper, just short of Gensler’s Shanghai Tower, has officially just began construction in Jinan.

Designed by UK firm Terry Farrell and Partners, the 560m skyscraper worth US$4bn, will be the newest addition to Jinan’s Shandong central business district’s skyline.

The tower will contain apartments, offices, entertainment spaces and shops for private residences as well as the general public, with views of the city seen from the sky lounges.
