Dedon, manufacturer of outdoor furniture, has won two Good Design awards in the Green Product category, for its NestRest Hanging Lounger and the Play collection.
The NestRest Hanging Lounger was developed with Fred Frety and Daniel Pouzet, and Play by Philippe Starck, a collection of tables and chairs.
The winning products were chosen by a panel from The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum ofArchitecture and Design and the European Centre for Architecture, Art,Design and Urban Studies.
NestRest by Fred Frety and Daniel Pouzet is of contemporary design, inspired by nature. It was created by two of France’s young talents. The teardrop-shaped hanging pod cocoons users with a special new weave of super-sized Dedon fiber protecting them from outside views while allowing them to look out in all directions.
Play with Dedon by Philippe Starck is a concept which includes sidechairs, armchairs, dining tables and bistro table.
The Good Design Award was founded in Chicago in 1950 by Eero Saarinen, Charles and Ray Eames, and Edgar Kaufmann, Jr., to promote and foster public understanding and acceptance of modern design.
