designMENA’s Facebook page has crossed 100 likes, with its Twitter profile being followed by over 300 design and architecture enthusiasts.
Since launching the website in May 2011, the Twitter and Facebook pages have attracted a lot of traffic.
“We’re absolutely delighted to have received this response towards our social networking sites so far, and we hope to attract another 100 followers in the next month,” said Jenny Eagle, editor, Commercial Interior Design.
Eagle said social media is essential in the current climate, and interior designers need to tap into this popular resource.
“Social media has revolutionised the way people communicate and these channels will be crucial for the region’s architects and designers to share news and insights,” said Oliver Ephgrave, editor, Middle East Architect.
designMENA’s Twitter profile now curates a list of the region’s interior designers and architects, and is calling for industry professionals who use the micro-blogging website to tweet to @designMENA to be included on the list, which can be found here.
The Facebook page, apart from linking to its latest stories on the website, also features photo albums from features, and will soon include a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the magazines.
