Design industry experts will participate in a major event taking place in December. Architects, interiors experts, sustainability professionals and furnishing creatives will all be at Business Bay’s Oberoi Hotel for the region’s first DesignMENA Summit.

Commercial Interior Design and Middle East Architect magazines are joining forces for the occasion which will celebrate an industry flourishing across the region as the demand for new hotels, retail outlets, residential development and public buildings continues to grow.

Alongside this has come an increased competition among professionals looking to deliver in the fields of design, sustainability, cost and timescale.

Those attending the event say that it will offer a major chance to learn the best way forward in a huge number of speciality fields, as well as exchange ideas with colleagues and counterparts.

DesignMENA 2013 – set for December 4 – will provide the ideal forum for creative people across the design and architectural fields to develop their businesses and inspire one another to create the innovative works which people across the globe marvel at.

Among the sponsors of the event are Archimedia, a company in the business of creating custom home entertainment and automation systems.

These include at-home cinemas, hi-fi audio systems and security, and lighting controls – all available at the touch of a button.

Regional marketing manager Dima Taha said: “This is an event we are very much looking forward to. It is a chance to get together with architects and interior designers and show them exactly what we have to offer. We want to introduce our services to them.

“But it is also more than that. This will be an opportunity for people across many fields to get together and to get to know each other…This will be the opportunity for many talented people to get together and see how they can work with one another to everyone’s benefit.”

Also sponsoring the event is iGuzzini illuminazione, an international leader in the production of indoor and outdoor architectural lighting using the best international designers and emphasising energy savings, safety, added value for buildings, enhanced historical and cultural heritage, and reduced light pollution.
