UAE-headquartered architecture practice Dewan has been awarded a deal to design the new Al Bayt 57 mixed-use scheme at Al-Khobar in Saudi Arabia.

The firm has been chosen by Saudi developer Al Bayt Real Estate to design the scheme on Khobar’s waterfront promenade, which is set to contain 500,00m2 of space within nine, 22-storey towers linked via a two-storey podium and basement.

The towers will contain a five- star hotel, Grade A office space, 1,500 luxury apartment units ranging from one- to four-bed units and a 25,000m2 retail mall on lower levels.

Dewan Architects’ executive director Ammar Al Assam said: “The unique design, composition, size and grandeur of Al Bayt 57 mixed-use development will define it one of the Kingdom’s most iconic projects.

“We are proud of working with Al Bayt and of the design of this complex, which will marry world-class facilities with high quality-of-life, environmentally friendly living spaces, all alongside an outstanding retail address. As a whole, it will serve as a benchmark for many future developments in the region.”
