UAE-based architecture firm Diar Consult provided the design for the newly opened Rolls-Royce showroom in Abu Dhabi.
Samir Daoud, chairman and principal design architect at Diar Consult, said, “We designed the showroom to reflect the luxury and finesse of Rolls-Royce and we understood Abu Dhabi Motors’ demand for excellence that is required when showcasing this iconic automobile.”
In 2008 Diar Consult was appointed lead designers of Abu Dhabi Motors’ multi-million-dirham investment in the redevelopment and expansion of their existing showrooms in Abu Dhabi. The new facility is the largest Rolls-Royce showroom in the world.
The project is situated at the existing BMW Showroom facilities in Umm Al Nar at Maqta Bridge. The newly-opened facility is one of three phases, the other two scheduled to be opened by end of this year. The overall project comprises 35,000m2 of development area including showroom facilities, workshops, service reception, distributor head offices and a lifestyle centre including a museum.
Daoud added, “We created a building with a sense of transparency and dynamism of the building facade through to its interiors, with the use of articulated skylights, canopies and sunscreens. This enriches the showrooms with natural brightness displaying the cars in the best possible light and mood.”
