Saraya Bandar Jissah, the company developing a five-star luxury resort to the north east of Omani capital Muscat, has appointed DSA Architects International to carry out the design of the second of two five-star hotels.
The 106 key hotel will be fully designed by lead architects DSA Architects and their engineering partner WSP, in the style of an Omani village. The design will incorporate elements from the natural surroundings including the mountainous terrain and the iconic beach. Aedas has been appointed for the interior design of the hotel, Verdaus for landscaping and DPA for lighting.
A fundamental part of the design theme will integrate the history of the place and the archaeological remains on the site to create a storyline for design.
Saraya Bandar Jissah CEO Sheikh Hamood Al Hosni said: “We are very much looking forward to starting work with DSA Architects and seeing the complete vision of the project come to life.
He added that the both hotels are due to open during the first quarter of 2017.
“It is important for us to work with our local communities and on completion; these two hotels will provide a wide range of hospitality employment opportunities for the local Omani workforce.”
Saraya Bandar Jissah is located on the outskirts of Muscat on a unique secluded beach surrounded by the Hajjar Mountains. The destination will be built on 2.2 million square metres of land with an expansive beachfront and a high point of 250 metres.
DSA has five international offices in Dubai, Doha, Baku, Johannesburg and Lisbon.
