Dubai’s Alserkal Avenue, home to Arts District Dubai, has begun the construction process for a much needed expansion.
As the art scene in Dubai experiences a boom, locally-based and international artists are looking to relocate to Alserkal Avenue, creating a demand for a 76,200m2 expansion of the area.
The new expansion will include an events centre and outdoor courtyard, which will host panel discussions, screenings and performances, as well as a wide selection of eateries.
Antonia Carver, fair director, Art Dubai explained: “Alserkal Avenue has rapidly become a must-visit destination within the region’s cultural landscape, contributing to Dubai’s reputation as a contemporary art hub.
“The expansion of Alserkal mirrors the growth that we are seeing in attendance and collecting at events such as Art Dubai.”
