Dubai’s Swiss Bureau has won a multi-million fit-out contract from the US-based DNA Health Corporation for its flagship integrated healthcare centre on Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Island.
The architecture and interior design firm was awarded the contract by DNA’s board of directors following a global six-way tender process, according to a Swiss Bureau statement.
“The tender was evaluated on the technical, financial, legal and project management levels of expertise of each submission,” said Dr Ahsan Malik, CEO for the DNA Health Corp. Middle East.
“Swiss Bureau were consistently superior on all functional aspects, the most competitive bid and they impressed our board members with their creative and innovative approach,” he stated.
Work on the project will now begin in The Collection retail complex at the five-star St Regis Saadiyat Island Resort Abu Dhabi, with completion expected by the first quarter of 2013.
Joakim de Rham, MD at Swiss Bureau Interior Design said that it was vital for the company to bring the tranquility and fluidity of nature into the heart of the centre.
He said: “We employed the very latest techniques in interior design to incorporate a vertical garden as part of the reception and welcome area to soothe guests as they arrive for treatment.”
With offices in Switzerland and Dubai, the boutique interior design firm specialises in providing high-end interior services for both commercial and residential projects.
De Rham continued: “Treatment rooms are equipped with high-technology but softened with bamboo and natural blond wood – our aim was for guests to receive unparalleled care.”
He added that the team welcomed the opportunity to work on the design for the healthcare industry, and that Swiss Bureau is looking forward to continuing its relationship with DNA.
Founded in 2011 by a group of 20 senior medical practitioners, DNA Health Corp is based in Washington DC.
