Dubai plans to build ‘mini world’ park

Dubai Municipality is planning to build a ‘Mini World Park’ containing replicas of monuments from around the globe.

According to Emirates 24|7, the park will contain miniature versions of the Great Wall of China, the Aztec Temples in Mexico, Stonehenge in England, Petra in Jordan and the Pyramids of Egypt. Versions of modern buildings like Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab, New York’s Empire State Building, Malaysia’s Petronas Tower and Toronto’s CN Tower will also feature.

It will also contain models of Ayers Rock (Uluru) in Australia, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon in Iraq, Mount Rushmore in the US and Resurrection Island in the South Atlantic.

According to the Municipality’s assistant director-general of planning and engineering, Eng Abdulla Mohammed Al Rafia (pictured), the Municipality is in the process of identifying a suitable site for the project.

“The park is on hold, but we are going to restart once we determine a location,” he said. “There are alternative locations and we haven’t decided on it.”

The Municipality is also in the midst of completing a number of other leisure projects including a crocodile park, a Holy Quran Park in Al Khawaneej and the giant Dubai Frame museum project in Zabeel Park.
