The urban art festival StreetCon 2015 is in Dubai until May 2 transforming the roads along Al Ghurair Centre, Deira, into an open-air gallery.
Visitors can explore cutting edge architectural designs live interactive graffiti walls, photography exhibitions, art installations and public art pieces lining the streets each day from 4pm to 10pm.
Headlining this year’s festival is street artist Eduardo Kobra, famous for his ‘Walls of Memory’ project. Having transformed the urban landscape of Sao Paolo, Brazil, he is now set to do the same in Deira.
“I use my work to recreate a city that no longer exists, so people who didn’t live in that time can see it and those who did can have a moment of memory or nostalgia,” he said. “Creating a mural in a vibrant, dynamic and exciting city like Dubai is a welcomed new challenge for me.”
