Dubai’s evolving cityscape to be analysed at designMENA Summit

The evolution of the architecture which makes up the distinctive skyline of Dubai is one of the major topics to be addressed at the designMENA Summit which takes place this afternoon at the Grosvenor House in the city.

A panel including Salim Hussain of Atkins, Steve Velegrinis of Perkins + Will, Ross Milne of 10Design and Farid Esmael of X Architects will look at the urbanisation of the environment which started towards the end of the 20th century.

The group will then look at how a community can arise organically and how architects can help facilitate this by designing public areas and with how “liveability” becomes more important as a city expands.

The final question is set be: “What can architects do to ensure their designs are liveable?”
