On its first time of entering the awards, Edge has been voted into top spot in the Boutique Firm of the Year category, which recognises the achievements of companies with fewer than 50 employees.

The judging panel felt that Edge was rapidly becoming a major force in the region with projects such as 1JBR, a new landmark project for Dubai Marina.

They also agreed the company showed an “Interesting approach to collaborative working and staff development”.

Partner Ivar Krasinski  said: “We have grown 800% since our inception which is really exciting. We have a really good team and we’re just trying to get projects moving. The reason why the award was won was because of the collaborative design approach, because of the staff development. That’s us.”

His colleague Martin Baerschmidt added: “We have been very fortunate with the sites that we have. We have two fantastic sites on the JBR beachfront in Dubai. A lot of people are seeing our work there, seeing the sign boards going up. That’s the Marriott Hotel and the 1JBR. Then in Saudi Arabia at King Abdullah Economic City we’re doing a fantastic residential project with a hotel component on the waterfront.

Highly commended for the category was Hajizadeh & Associates.
