Eight-year time lapse shows Louvre Abu Dhabi take shape

The following time lapse shows the UAE’s Louvre Abu Dhabi taking shape over a period of eight years.

The video shows the construction of Louvre Abu Dhabi between November 2009 and November 2017.

Captured using EarthCam’s professional-grade camera technology, the three-minute short was edited down from more than 70,000 hours of archived footage, and more than one million high-resolution images.

Developed by Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC), Louvre Abu Dhabi officially opened its doors to the public on 11 November, 2017.

Commenting on the Jean Nouvel-designed cultural development, EarthCam’s chief executive officer and founder, Brian Cury, said: “The Louvre Abu Dhabi is an epic architectural achievement, and we are honoured to have been the time-lapse technology provider for this iconic project.

“I’m proud of the work our dedicated team has produced over the past eight years documenting this increadible Jean Nouvel masterpiece,” he added.
