Fire breaks out at site near Dubai Mall

A fire broke out at two construction sites next to The Dubai Mall yesterday.

Civil Defence have brought the blaze under control, reports Emirates 24/7.

Reports indicate the fire broke out around 12.15pm opposite the cinema parking at Downtown Dubai, with Civil Defence arriving on the scene within minutes.

Witnesses on the scene said the fire started in the offices of one of the construction sites and spreading wider within minutes to engulf the adjacent site.

The area has been cordoned off while authorities remain on the scene, however traffic movement is normal.

Two other incidences were reported yesterday, with two cars catching fire in separate cases. No one was injured in the other two blazes.
