Cuban ballet school

Foster + Partners has been selected to redevelop Fidel Castro’s unfinished School of Ballet outside Havana, it was reported on bdonline.

The architect was selected by Cuban ballet star Carlos Acosta to redevelop the building, which was never completed during the country’s revolution.

It features domed roofs designed in 1961 by Italian Vittorio Garatti.

Lord Foster told The Sunday Times: “Carlos is a great dancer who is inspiring the regeneration of an iconic ruin of early modernism outside Havana.”
