The Foundation Louis Vuitton arts centre for cultural foundation is nearing completion, designed by Frank Gehry Architects.
Set to open in October, the building is located in the Jardin d’Acclimatation in Paris, providing a permanent centre for the organisation to promote contemporary arts in both France and globally.
The structure itself appears to resemble a cloud of glass, the form provided by twelve curving sails that are made up of 3, 6000 glass panels.
The centre will house 11 exhibiton galleries that will feature a permanent collection of contemporary art as well as temporary exhibitions and artists’ commissions.
It will also offer a 350-seat auditorium, meeting and event spaces and education facilities.
The upper levels will feature terraces that offer visitors stretching views across the late 19th-century park.
Set to open to the public on the 27th of October, the opening exhibition will showcase the architecture of the building simultaneously with an exhibition of Gehry’s work at the Centre Pompidou.
