gmp will be working alongside engineers Schlaich Bergermann Partners to create the roof design that will feature a cover sheet of approximately 12,000m2.

The material that will cover the arena will be fabric that can easily slide. The cloth fabric is a subtle choice that won’t interfere with the ancient building’s architecture, as well as being a tool for preservation against damages caused by extreme weather conditions.

The engineers will install cables that can be stored underneath the compression ring cantilever. This will allow the area to be fully open or closed, without any visual intrusion of the cables.

The amphitheatre dates back to 30 AD, and is still used today for concerts, performances and shows.
