Bathroom supplier Hansgrohe has created a life-size eco home for the World Future Energy Summit 2013 which runs from 15-17 January in Abu Dhabi.
The interactive home is designed to showcase simple ways that consumers and developers can create a sustainable home.
Hansgrohe’s ‘EcoSmart’ technology is featured among a number of green solutions from companies around the world which comply with Estidama – the sustainable building and construction standards authority in Abu Dhabi.
Hansgrohe’s mixers and showerheads fitted with the EcoSmart technology are said to consume up to 60% less water than conventional products without any loss of comfort.
Its mixers go beyond the minimum requirements set by Estidama to deliver 5 l/min, instead of the minimum 6 l/m.
Flow limitation, special spray jets and the mixing of water with air reduce water consumption down to either 6 or 9 l/min depending on the diameter of the shower.
Dirk Schilmoeller, sales director Middle East for Hansgrohe, said: “We are now definitely witnessing a genuine drive of new development projects in pursuing increasingly higher levels of sustainability.”
Hansgrohe’s EcoSmart technology has also been installed at the Al Forsan Hotel due for completion this year and The International Shooting Club, Abu Dhabi.
