Henn reveals membrane-roofed stadium in China

Sports centre China

Henn architects won a competition to design a sports centre in Nantong, China, which includes a 10,000-seater stadium with a striking membrane roof.

The central stadium is surrounded by smaller independent sports halls and includes an arena, swimming hall, badminton hall, table tennis hall, and martial arts facilities.

Henn’s complex  is located next to a government building and the Nantong Urban Planning Museum.

The stadium includes a ribbed framework and external translucent membrane. A lighting scheme for the membrane illuminates the roof in various colour combinations.
